Global security faces uncertainty. Global economic recovery is fragile and unsteady. Facing the challenges and difficulties, the Communist Party of China (CPC) and the Chinese government have led the entire Chinese people in unity and determination, firmly maintaining national development and security and contributing to the stability of the world economy.

Facing the challenges and difficulties, the Communist Party of China (CPC) and the Chinese government have led the entire Chinese people in unity and determination, firmly maintaining national development and security and contributing to the stability of the world economy.
1. Always put the people and life front and center, China effectively controls the pandemic. Under the command of President Xi Jinping, China has established a set of scientific and effective policies and measures since the outbreak of COVID-19, including take science-based and targeted measures against the pandemic and dynamic zero-COVID policy. Under the leadership of the CPC and the government, and with the concerted efforts of the whole nation, so far, China’s mainland has reported 249,684 confirmed cases, 241,496 cured cases and 5,226 deaths, maintaining the lowest infection and mortality rates in the world, and has received 3.4 billion doses of the vaccines, covering 92% of the total population. The dynamic zero-COVID policy has proven to be the best choice for China, as it conforms to China’s reality and protects people’s lives and health to the greatest extent possible. At the same time, China is actively implementing President Xi Jinping’s solemn commitment to make vaccines a global public good. So far, China has provided 2.2 billion doses vaccines to more than 120 countries and international organizations, including 1 billion doses to Africa, 600 million of which are free of charge. China will continue to share its beneficial experience and practice in anti-pandemic with other countries, provide assistance to countries and regions with weak capacity against the pandemic, and help the world prevail over the pandemic completely at an early date.

After seven years of arduous efforts, we have successfully hosted the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics and Paralympics which attracted worldwide attention. From hosting the Summer Olympics in 2008 and the Winter Olympics in 2022, Beijing has become the first “dual-Olympic city” in the world. In this Winter Olympics, about 170 official representatives from nearly 70 countries and international organizations attended the opening ceremony, and nearly 3,000 athletes from 91 countries and regions fought hard, challenged the limits and surpassed themselves, breaking 2 new world records and 17 Winter Olympics records, reflecting the Olympic motto of ” Faster, Higher, Stronger – Together”. China has made tremendous efforts to hold a simple, safe and splendid Winter Olympic Games overcome the impact of the pandemic, and its first-class competition facilities and excellent organization and services have won wide acclaim from the Olympic family and the international community. The success of the Beijing Winter Olympics and Winter Paralympics is not only a success for China, but also a success for the world; not only a victory for sports, but also a victory for cooperation; not only a practice of building a community with a shared future for mankind, but also a common aspiration and pursuit of the Olympic spirit for all mankind.

The total value of imports and exports of goods was RMB 1.98 trillion (US$0.29 trillion), an increase of 9.4 percent year on year. The amount of actual foreign investment used increased 17.4% year on year, China will open its door wider to the outside world. Today, China’s economy totals more than RMB 114 trillion (US$17.7 trillion), more than double that of 2012, and its contribution to world economic growth has generally remained at around 30%, making it the largest engine of world economic growth. The fundamentals of China’s economy, characterized by strong resilience, enormous potential, ample room for policy adjustment and long-term sustainability, will remain sound.
