Former police officer M. Mariano was identified by the Public Prosecution Service (OM) as the mastermind behind the burglary, in which 600 kilos of drugs were stolen from the police station. The Public Prosecution Service demanded 16 years in prison against him. However, the judge stated that the statements of anonymous witnesses are insufficiently supported by the other evidence.

The former officer was sentenced to six years in prison for his involvement in the importation of 340 kilos of cocaine, drug trafficking and the misappropriation of his service weapon. Five other suspects have also been convicted of their involvement in drug trafficking. One suspect was sentenced to 100 hours of community service and the other four to prison terms ranging from six to 24 months.
