According to the hospital, there is no data to support this statement. “While it is important to draw attention to this societal issue, it is also important to understand that elective care only covers procedures for non-acute and non-life-threatening conditions,” the CMC says.

The hospital says it uses strict procedures to monitor the individual circumstances of each patient in consultation with the primary care provider.
