WILLEMSTAD – The Interparliamentary Kingdom Consultation (IPKO) started on Tuesday morning in the Dreams Resort, Spa & Casino. Representatives from the Netherlands, Aruba and Sint Maarten traveled to Curaçao for the semi-annual consultation.

– The Interparliamentary Kingdom Consultation (IPKO) started on Tuesday morning in the Dreams Resort, Spa & Casino. Representatives from the Netherlands, Aruba and Sint Maarten traveled to Curaçao for the semi-annual consultation.
On Tuesday morning, the IPKO will be opened by the chairman, after which the delegation leaders from the Netherlands, Sint Maarten and Aruba will each give a 5-minute speech. The morning will then be filled with a presentation of recent developments per country.

On Tuesday afternoon, the reception of migrant flows within the Kingdom will be discussed. Officials from the Ministry of Justice will give a presentation after which the IPKO members can ask questions. Furthermore, the challenges and possible alleviations of the reception of migrant flows within the Kingdom are discussed.

In the evenings, a welcome reception is offered by the President of the Parliament of Curaçao Charetti America-Francisca. During the week, various topics will be discussed, such as the democratic deficit, reforms within the country packages, the history of slavery and colonialism.
