Hoekstra: “Gradual reopening Venezuelan borders”

WILLEMSTAD – The border with Venezuela will be reopened gradually. This was announced by the Dutch Minister of Foreign Affairs Wopke Hoekstra. On Tuesday afternoon, Hoekstra gave a press conference on Curaçao.

The Dutch minister met with the Prime Minister of Curaçao Gilmar Pisas, the Prime Minister of Aruba Evelyn Wever-Croes and the Prime Minister of Sint Maarten Silveria Jacobs. Effective cooperation was discussed, including tackling crime, freedom of the press, the war in Ukraine and the relationship with Venezuela. Prime Minister Pisas says it took a long time to get the Venezuelan authorities to sit down and discuss the borders. Curaçao is willing to reopen the borders.
