The biggest problem facing the hospital is the financial shortfall. The government has to contribute about 300 million guilders annually, which consists of tax revenues. Pisas wants to prevent the hospital from going downhill due to the low income, which would have major consequences for care on the island.

The group will also consider matters mentioned by the Board of Directors of CMC Exploitatie in a letter to various ministers at the beginning of September. For example, the waiting list for elective care and the relationship between the CMC and the ADC medical laboratories are discussed. The steering group will prepare decisions on behalf of the government and in consultation with the hospital, with the aim of eliminating the problems.
