Emergency meeting on KLM situation

Representatives of CAP, VBC, CHATA and Chamber of Commerce

 

Curaçao Airport Partners (CAP), Curaçao Business Association (VBC), Curaçao Hospitality and Tourism Association (CHATA) and the Chamber of Commerce were present. Minister of Economic Development Ruisandro Cijntje also took part in the meeting. The subject was the rigorous decrease in the number of KLM flights to Curaçao that was suddenly announced this week.

All parties are now working together on a solution to improve the situation as quickly as possible. According to Cijntje, KLM’s decision has a major impact on the island and the costs will rise to about twenty million dollars.

The Prime Minister did not state what the proposed solutions could be but did indicate that these will soon be announced.
