Curaçao’s new national emblem announced

WILLEMSTAD – The new national emblem of Curaçao was announced on Monday at Brionplein. The design ‘Mi Pais, Mi Orguyo‘ (My Country, My Pride) by Adresetti Monart has won.

The new national emblem of Curaçao was announced on Monday at Brionplein. The design ‘Mi Pais, Mi Orguyo‘ (My Country, My Pride) by Adresetti Monart has won. 

 

The committee that was put together especially for the new emblem says that the winning design includes all elements: the bridge, the colors, the flag and the pride of the island. Monart, was told by Prime Minister Gilmar ‘Pik’ Pisas and Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sport Sithree van Heydoorn that her design has become the new emblem of Curaçao.

205 designs were submitted, after which a top ten was made. The community was asked to vote for this via the emblema.cw website.
