During the weekly meeting, the Council of Ministers approved the Human Trafficking Action Plan. This plan was submitted on 4 November by Justice Minister Shalten Hato.
The ministers have agreed with the contents of the action plan and the implementation of the eighteen decision points. The ministers also think it is a good plan to organize courses and training for various employees mentioned in the plan. The financing of the courses is paid for by the Ministry of Justice. The implementation of the plan will be discussed in 2024.

According to the US authorities, the Curaçao government does not fully meet the minimum standards for the elimination of human trafficking. Officials mistook human trafficking for migrant smuggling, so prosecution, prevention, and protection were not enforced.

At the end of last year, the Pisas II cabinet noted that not all agreements made during the Four-Country Justice Consultation in 2017 on human trafficking had been complied with. The authorities are now mainly concerned with combating drug trafficking, car trafficking, etc. They cannot, therefore, give priority to combating human trafficking.
